Based on historical patterns and Copilot+ partnerships, here's our predicted Windows 12 device rollout order.

Wave 1: Launch Day

Microsoft's Surface Pro 11 and Surface Laptop 7 should ship or update on day one, alongside flagship Dell, HP, Lenovo, and ASUS Copilot+ partners.

Wave 2: First 30 Days

The broader Copilot+ catalog — Acer, MSI, Samsung — follows within the first month pending driver validation.

Wave 3: Months 2-4

Standard Windows 11 PCs without a qualifying NPU receive the OS via staged rollout, getting the OS but not AI features.

Wave 4: 6+ Months

Enterprise and LTSC deployments arrive last, following Windows 11 LTSC's nearly-3-year precedent.

Devices That May Never Qualify

Pre-2018 hardware failing base requirements (8GB RAM, TPM 2.0, WDDM 3.0 GPU) won't be eligible at all.
